BookAid Indonesia - Helping English Language students in Indonesia

How can I assist BookAid Indonesia?

BookAid Indonesia is forming strong relationships with schools, teachers and students across the Indonesian island of Flores and surrounding islands.

Students studying English as a second language are poorly resourced in this remote area. BookAid Indonesia is helping to assist with the provision of library books and educational texts. BookAid Indonesia is also connecting Australian Bahasa Schools with Floresian Schools to foster 'two-way' language and cultural development.

How Can I Help?

BookAid Indonesia is confronted with TWO main challenges in meeting our monthly targets

  1. Sourcing sufficient appropriate texts for shipping to our distribution centre at Mbay on the northern coast of Flores from our range of suppliers around Melbourne

We have established a solid foundation of private and corporate donors who assist in gathering good condition English texts. Printers, Recycling Retailers, private citizens and Educational Facilities. As our demand grows we are anxious to hear from new donors that can assist our program continue its work. To contact BookAid Indonesia and offer to be a donor of text material please send us an email

BookAid Indonesia is a BOOK RECYCLER. We are proud that our program has a secondary purpose of giving valuable 'used' English texts a new home and a new life!

  2. Meeting the costs of shipping each month

The shipping costs of each 'box' of books dispatched to Mbay costs between $160 AUD to $240 AUD. Shipping costs are the main financial obstacle we face. If you can help with these costs please let us know. BookAid Indonesia can be contacted by completing this form.
